Legendary media personality and 5fm employee Ricky. B Banda passed on after a short illness. Mr. Banda pioneered the show Zilile Ngoma which was aired on ZNBC television. He was also known for his best role of playing the best Rhumba and Kalindula music on radio.
Zambian well decorated gospel artist Pompi has been nominated for the African Act of the year at the Vine Awards 3rd Edition which will be held on 7th May,2022 at the Kampala Serena Hotel In Kampala, Uganda. Pompi has been nominated with other nominees like Judi Kay, Limoblaze, Marizu and Moji Shortbaba. Still on the awards Jay Rox has been nominated at the Tanzania music awards. He has been nominated in the Best Music artist category from Southern Africa with other nominees from South Africa including Sho Madjozi, Focalist, Cassaper Nyovest and Dj Maphorisa.
Angela Nyirenda bagged herself an award at the Stanbic Anakazi Banking awards “ women in arts “ at the Gala Dinner awards which was held in Lusaka. Angela Nyirenda was among the 15 women from various sectors who were recognized at the Stanbic to mention but a few , agriculture , manufacturing, infrastructure, mining, sport, arts ,Media, entrepreneurship and community.
South African rapper Nasty C was in the country performing at the music club however he had a backstage interview with Edina the people’s Bea were he was given some Zambian artists names and asked if he knew them. Some of the artists names Nasty c was given include Marky 2 , Towera Kaira, Natasha Chansa and Cleo Ice Queen. Unfortunately the only artist the rapper admitted to know was Cleo Ice Queen.
A short clip of the interview was shared on our Facebook page ( Zambian Music blog ) . Zambian Music fans had mixed opinions concerning his response. One of the comments on the post that got people’s attention was by Alpha Entertainment rapper Chef 187. The rappers comment was, “ U missed out on an opportunity to tell him we have Nasty D and his career is as old as he is.”
Copperbelt controversial rapper Y Celeb took responsibility and warned South African rapper Nasty C who has been trending on the Zambian Scene. However Queen Mampi sat down with EDNA and disclosed that removed her verse from the song “Ubepelefye” and replaced it with Bobby East’s verse because the song was “Ex” featuring Chanda Na Kay by Umulolo is a replica. Mampi dropped “Ubepelefye” record in 2020 on which she tagged Bobby East but brought up some social media drama later in 2021.
Nexus Music Entertainment signed vocal goddess Towela Kaira is one of the most hard working female artist in the Zambian music industry at the moment. The songstress has been on the move of late and she is rumored to have featured South African artist Musa Keys on her next single to be released next week. However the news surfaced after Edna The People’s Bae aired the information about the collaboration when she was interviewing South African rapper Nasty C.
2022 might have a lot of impressive tunes on the way, this is not the first time music lovers have had the feel of sensational collabo, a few weeks ago it was Slapedee featuring Yo Maps now it’s Drimz and Afunika. On 28th March 2022, the music star on Facebook shared his excitement of a possible amazing joint. Remember this is not the first time these stars are displaying their musical prowess. Drimz featured on Afunika’s song, ‘Nadoba‘. Which was released back in 2027.
Yo Maps is set to drop his debut single track and video under his new record label Nexus music. According to a report from Nexus music the vocalist has just finished shooting the video in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Award winning Zambian artist, Elton Mulenga famously known as Yo Maps received his chilanga mulilo from lover Kidist over the weekend.
Mwizukanji on the other hand, the baby mama to Yo Maps congratulated the couple (Yo Maps and Kidist) on their Chilanga mulilo. Some months ago Kidist and Mwizukanji buried the hatchet over ex and current drama. Finally Yo Maps has found his missing rib.
Just a few hours after his Chilanga mulilo with his bride Kidist. Yo Maps showed up at the Chivas XV night at the Music club to perform alongside king Buga. Macky2 surprises the music fans by bringing unexpected guest to the party.

Three days just after the the release of Ghetto 2 Mayadi, Dizmo Kamfana kandalama better known as Dizmo decided to upload it on Boomplay. In less than a week the album (Ghetto 2 Mayadi) has surpassed more than 500,000 streams on the platform. also former XYZ Entertainment artist, CAMSTAR took to social media on 26th March 2022 where he share his heartfelt emotions, the rapper said he never thought there would be a day when his generation would be almost faded out.
