Yvonne Mwale leaves an IMPACT at three further shows in Germany

A couple of weeks ago Yvonne Mwale started her tour in Europe with some shows in Switzerland and Germany. In the media Yvonne and her band where highly praised.

It’s time you give you some updates. Last week was what one can call the climax of her this years tour. To start a busy weekend Yvonne performed on Friday as a headliner at the “3 Tage Marburg”-Festival, a summer festival in the city of Marburg. Yvonne Mwale’s appearance at the festival was well promoted by the local media. A local magazine used her portrait as the front page. No wonder that a big crowd had gather to be there when Yvonne entered the stage at 22:00 sharp, just next to the historic castle of the town. Yvonne Mwale and her band performed until midnight. But when they took a break at 23:00, big fireworks where fired.

But the weekend had just started. Saturday it was time to head to Frankfurt. Backed by Sir Jones on the Guitars and the Tanzanian percussionist Twaba (Percussion, Chimes, Marimba) the trio performed at the Stoffel Festival in front of some 2500 people. The crowd celebrated the energetic performance and allowed the three musicians to close show only after playing ‘one more’.

The next day Yvonne Mwale went to perform in Hünfelden. The municipality had arranged a concert in a local hall. The concert was promoted well. Several newspaper articles announced the show, posters where up everywhere. So the hall was prepared with 180 chairs – just in case more people would come. Well, the doors had to be closed when 370 people crowded the packed full hall. The musicians from Zambia and Tanzania where celebrated ecstatically. The concert ended with standing ovations of a cheering crowd and a major newspaper saved half a page to give the show an excellent review!
