Slapdee Drops a Bombshell: New Album Coming soon!

After a long spell of silence, Zambian hip-hop giant Slapdee has finally opened up about why he hasn’t been releasing music as frequently as fans expected. The King of Zambian hip-hop revealed that he is currently working on a full body of work, which explains his break from the spotlight.

Speaking in detail, Slapdee shared the story behind his massive collaboration with Nigerian dancehall superstar Patoranking on the hit “Lituation.” He explained that linking up with Patoranking was a dream come true, one that was made possible by Vjeezy. As fate would have it, Patoranking was in Zambia to perform at the Mosi Day of Thunder, which gave them the perfect opportunity to record.

Interestingly, Slapdee revealed that while he did pay Patoranking for the feature, he also had to prove his star power. Since he wasn’t on the official event lineup, he showed up and performed, leaving a strong impression on Patoranking. However, the Nigerian star didn’t record his verse immediately. Weeks later, he called Slapdee around 2 AM to finally share the recorded verse — a moment Slapdee remembers vividly.

While the verse was in place, the track still lacked a proper hook. Slapdee turned to the late Daev Zambia, who, in just 15 minutes, recorded the hook that would make “Lituation” the anthem it became. Slapdee praised Daev’s unmatched talent, noting that he and Elisha Long are two artists he has always trusted when it comes to crafting powerful hooks.

Slapdee also clarified that beyond paying for the video production, the collaboration came together organically, fueled by respect, timing, and the shared love for music.
