There appears to be a fresh chapter in Zambia’s music industry after DJ Kandeke announced that he has reconciled with veteran singer Drimz, putting their past differences behind them. Sharing an emotional message on social media, he expressed gratitude after meeting with Drimz and resolving the misunderstandings that had created distance between them.

“Against all odds, my brother and I are together again. This picture is a message of love, unity, and forgiveness. I’m a very happy man,” he wrote. According to Kandeke, everyone makes mistakes, whether knowingly or unknowingly, but what truly defines a person is how they choose to deal with those mistakes.

He acknowledged that misunderstandings, harsh words and rising tensions had driven a wedge between “brothers from Kabwe.” However, he thanked God for giving them an opportunity to sit down, have an honest conversation and restore their relationship.

In his message, Kandeke also revealed that the reconciliation involved not only himself and Drimz but also musician Yo Maps. “Today, I thank God for giving us the opportunity to meet, talk, and clear the misunderstanding between me, Yo Maps, and our elder brother, Drimz.”

He went on to pay tribute to Drimz, describing him as a pioneer who opened doors for the younger generation of musicians. “Our elder brother, Drimz, paved the way for us in countless ways that words can hardly express. We are forever grateful for his guidance, support, and the foundation he helped build,” he wrote.

Kandeke concluded his message by encouraging love, humility and forgiveness, saying these values will always be stronger than pride. The reconciliation has been warmly received by many fans, who have welcomed the show of unity and hope it marks the beginning of stronger collaboration among some of Zambia’s biggest music personalities.

For many supporters, the reunion is a reminder that while disagreements may arise, dialogue and forgiveness can help rebuild relationships and strengthen the music industry.
