The Black Entertainment Film, Fashion, Television and Arts awards which are held annually have rolled out the list of nominees for the 2015 ceremony, It is gives me great pleasure to announce that Zambia has yet again made the shortlist, after “Ruff Kaida’s” nomination and eventual triumph in 2012 as Best International African Act.
2015 has undoubtedly been a very fruitful year for Zambian Music in general, this said, other gems in the industry shine brighter than the lot. Bruce Simbwalanga popularly known as “B1” and Jackson Banda popularly known as “Jay Rox” have both been unrelenting in the artistry they have displayed thus far, so it comes as no surprise that they have been nominated among Africa’s elite entertainers in this year’s BEFFTA UK awards.
Jay Rox and B1 have both been nominated in the BEST INTERNATIONAL AFRICAN ACT category alongside prominent figures in the African entertainment circles such as Sarkodie, Wizkid, Davido, R2bees, Zahara, P Square, Timaya, Tiwa Savage to cite but a few.
Voting started on 15th October and ends on 25th October, I urge all well-meaning and proud Zambians and Africans at large (Celebrities and fans alike) to vote generously for Jay Rox and B1.
