Here is a review of 2016’s First Hip-Hop Album. The Album done by Up and Coming rappers Goose Major And Xaga Boss10 is a mixture of two different cultures blended with rhythm and poetry. The 12-Track EP shades light on the copperbelt and lusaka based rappers as they embark on a mission to “Cross Borders”.
No Boundaries came out 26 May 2016 at 8Pm on Reverbnation. Since then it has a total of 5000+ Digital download and a total of 8000+ “Singles” Downloads on all digital platforms. The Album has enjoyed a fair share of airplay across some of zambia’s well renowned Radio stations such as national broadcaster ZNBC Radio 4. Including Power Fm, Metro Fm, Joy Fm, KNC Radio, and campus radio Hone Fm.
The album is a total mixture of hiphop from the 90’s to the sound being embraced in 2016. It includes vibes of an Old skull touch with songs such as “No Boundaries”, and “There for you” a classic 90’s Rn’B themed song. To New school styled beats in the songs “Body language”, “AWBAT (Ain’t worried bout a thing)l, and the “lDFWU Freestyle”.
The Albums top single “I Messed Up” is the center of attention on the album. It embodies the reality of choosing a career most would claim “non starter”, But clearly, with all those impressive numbers and hype the album has received, Its clear that Xaga Boss10 and Goose Major Messed up, But they made it.
