In a significant update to Zambia’s power situation, ZESCO has announced that citizens will now receive only 2 to 4 hours of electricity per day, reserved for essential household activities. The new schedule means that load shedding will extend to an estimated 20 to 22 hours each day.
This adjustment comes as ZESCO puts on hold the previously proposed 17-hour load shedding schedule set for September. The utility company has not provided a timeline for when normal power supply might resume, leaving citizens to navigate the challenges of these extended outages.
