Yo Maps’ Legal Counsel Clarifies Namibia Visit: “He Was There to Shoot a Music Video”

In a recent statement, Mr. Kadhila Amoomo, legal counsel to Zambian music sensation Yo Maps, clarified the circumstances surrounding Yo Maps’ detention by Namibian authorities. Speaking on Hot FM, Red Hot Breakfast (RHB) this morning, Mr. Amoomo emphasized that Yo Maps was in Namibia specifically to shoot a music video that required him to be on stage, addressing the confusion regarding his work visa status.

Yo Maps, whose real name is Elton Mulenga, along with his manager DJ Kandeke, was detained by Namibian authorities for not presenting a work visa. According to reports, Mulenga initially told immigration authorities that he was on a personal visit. However, it was later discovered that he had staged a performance on Saturday, which led to his detention. Yo Maps made his court appearance on yesterday, 16 July, in the Windhoek Magistrate Court and was found guilty, he was slapped with a fine of N$5000 with is equivalent to K7034 Zambian kwacha.
