“Zedway is a foundation founded by Admiral P. Zedway´s mission is to educate, produce and promote African musics important role in the the global music industry. As we know, most of the popular music genres around the world today are highly influenced by African music. But still, modern African music industry is more or less non existent in the international arena. In a time where the digital revolution has decimated the costs obtaining to recording and distributing music. Previously the costs of music production and distribution where very high due to the individual costs of production, musicians, studio, physical distribution etc. Could the lack of know how and insight in western practice be an explanation to this phenomenon? Another challenge is the lack of digital capacity and knowledge about the new digital world. These things are improving rapidly all over the continent. It seems there is little understanding for these challenges in today’s aid policies, and Zedway would like to be the foundation working to improve this situation and bring resources and competence to the music industry in Zambia.”
