Zambian singer Towela Kaira has opened up about the pressure she’s facing as she works on her first studio album, revealing that expectations are weighing heavily on her. The artist, who comes from one of Zambia’s most successful musical families, says the success of her brothers has made the process both exciting and stressful.
Towela is the sister of rap heavyweights Chef 187 and Macky 2 — two artists known for delivering highly successful and impactful albums.
“It’s so stressful… when you have siblings that are already making it big and have had amazing success with their albums, it’s just so much pressure to get it right,” she shared during a conversation with Haantinga.
Despite the pressure, Towela remains focused on delivering a project that reflects her identity and sound. She acknowledged that stepping into the album space comes with responsibility — especially with fans expecting quality that matches her family’s musical reputation.
As Towela prepares to release her first album, many fans are eager to see how she will define her own lane while carrying the weight of a powerful musical legacy.
