Tanzanian artist Zuchu rejects an endorsement deal worth $108,000

Wasafi Records signee and award winning artist Zuchu Othman Sound better known by her stage name as Zuchu has turn down an endorsement deal worth $108,000 from an alcoholic brand.

In defense the songbird said that, she rejected the deal to preserve her religious beliefs and depicts she finds it hard to endorse a product she doesn’t consume. She further notes that, it would not have been fair to advertise something she doesn’t consume.

Furthermore her Muslim mother who is also a Tanzanian Music legend (Khadija Kopa) warned her against promoting alcoholic beverages.

The fans on the other hand had their own thoughts about her defense mechanism. Hassan on Facebook comments that, ā€œMusic itself is haram. Kwegambe She choose which haram she should avoid and which to indulge in. Sadly that’s a reality to many of us Muslims.

Wan on Facebook also commented saying,ā€ I know She preserving religion but does her church encourage them to do those hairstyles cos to my view she is not making sense at all.
