Innocent Kalaluka professionally known by his stage name as Smooth IK has commented on the issue of not playing and supporting Zambian music which was ignited by the South Gang CEO King Illest.
king Illest started a conversation about Zambian music and Zambian Dj’s. He depicted that Zambian Dj’s play amapiano all night and not Zambian music. He maintained that it was primitive to play music of people who do not recognize you.
Other people such as Dj Pressure (PMC) supported King Illest view . He ( Dj pressure) decided that he will be playing 90% of Zambian music on radio. Which will be more than foreign foreign music.
Smooth IK on the other hand has supported the view of playing more Zambian music. He therefore advises Zambian Dj’s to play more Zambian music so that Club owners can be bringing in local artists to perform as Zambian music will become a vibe around the country when it is played more. He maintained that, if Zambian artist bring in money , even studio owners will begin to better studio equipments by doing so Zambian music will grow.
