Victor K. Musonda, A Solwezi based artist better known as V-mas is claiming the fame records producer/recording artist, Shenky to have materialised on his idea and gave birth to one of Zambia’s 2015 biggest hits ‘Kontamako’. This came to my attention after people started hinting me about a Replica of the Copperbelt based artist’s hit single ‘Kontamako’ emerging from North Western province of Zambia.
In a recent chat with V-mas, read below what he said;
“I recorded my song ‘Kontamuka’ and released it on 16th December 2014. I shared the song with the same shenky guy. In January 2015 i shared the song with krummy kanselele, baska, dalisoul mwana wumkomboni and 4040 entertaiment, balinkoselesha ati (pushed me, saying;) you have done it… The song is a big hit after four good months people started phoning me that, “V-mas shenky naibo lwimbo lobe”. You know how efyo chikalipa, i phoned shenky because i wanted to hear from him, but he wasn’t picking, i tried to send him a text, awe nakalya no response. I was disturbed and confused. I asked God! How could my friend do this to me ummmmm.
I was very disappointed because shenky was my good friend. Lets learn to fear nokwafwa were help is needed, stealing won’t take us anywhere nga naufilwa kulekafye. Am the rightful owner of the hit song kontama kontamuka shenky alinjibila. V-mas the king of kontama kontamuka. Am coming with another version of kontama watch out ukwiba kubi balasebana.
Let’s maintain our tune for it will be easy to be identified locally and let’s take zambian music to another level, labeniko ukwiba nokukopela ama tune yabanenu.”
