Mazabuka Female Cop Assaults ZAM President, Davidson Massjai Musanda at Local Bar

Davidson Musanda, President of the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM), was reportedly assaulted by a female police officer in a shocking incident at Mazabuka’s Friday’s Corner bar. The altercation unfolded around 20:00 hours, leaving onlookers horrified as Constable Mervis Zulu of the Mazabuka Police Station launched a violent attack on Musanda.

The officer’s blows left Musanda’s face bloodied and severely bruised, with witnesses describing the scene as chaotic. Despite attempting to defend himself, Musanda was overpowered by the relentless attack. His face, covered in blood and swollen beyond recognition, became a gruesome sight, with injuries to his eyes, nose, and lips.

In a bizarre twist, the violence didn’t stop there. Zulu then turned her aggression toward another patron, Bright Hamweenda, the Mazabuka District Youth Chairman, while Musanda reportedly fled to the police station for assistance.

Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. “Whoever is found responsible will be charged and prosecuted accordingly,” Daka said, promising that justice would be served in this troubling case.

The incident has sparked widespread concern about police conduct and raised questions about the circumstances that led to such an altercation. Authorities are now working to piece together the events and ensure accountability.
