Top Zambian musicians Mampi and Jay Rox have shared public statements concerning their withdrawal from the 2018 Kwacha Music Awards.
Mampi has condemned the awards for not having a proper structure in a statement she posted on twitter with the caption “PUBLIC NOTICE; this is to inform all my fans that it is with regret that I announce to you that iam not taking part in this year’s kwacha music awards,maybe next year and only if a proper structure is put in place for the growth of the industry.thanks for the love and support“.
Jay Rox also feels this year is not the right time take part in the prestigious Kwacha Music Awards and his issue is the same as of Mampi’s according to his latest tweet with the caption “PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: I will not be taking part in the Kwacha awards until we are able to create a proper structure that will help the industry for the better.”
