Renowned Zambian artist Lord Wapi has shared the inspiration behind his latest piece of concept art, titled “Heart Shaped Warm Embrace.” Rather than channeling his artistic talents into political commentary, as he has in the past, Lord Wapi chose to create a heartfelt tribute to the late former President Levy Mwanawasa and his wife, Maureen Mwanawasa.
Speaking about his decision, Lord Wapi revealed, “Instead of wasting my ink on drawing HH in a graduation gown, I decided to do a concept art piece of Levy and Maureen meeting after a long time.” This artwork captures a poignant moment of reunion, symbolizing love and connection beyond time.
The piece has resonated deeply with many, as it beautifully conveys the emotional reunion of two figures who played significant roles in Zambia’s history.
