LISTEN: James Sakala – “You”

James Sakala has been quiet for some time now because he has been listening to music from all over the world looking for inspiration for my next project. So far, Nigeria and South Africa being on the top to influence the direction that ALMOST all musicians are taking. Lately, these two countries have gotten us excited to moving in their musical direction this being seen through some of the music that is making noise on the streets.

To emphasize, We also have our own sound as a people that he believe if well natured will lead to greater influence because we did it before in the past with ZAM rock and kalindula (to mention but a few) where he draw so much lessons and inspiration. It is with this knowledge that I wrote the song “You” which is basically a blend of my original sound and the rest of the world.

This is a song that was inspired by the journey my friends Mumba Yachi, mic li (also co-writers) and I took to Kapiri early last year. This song focuses on a Love story that is in Chewa (a Language spoken in the eastern part of Zambia and Malawi) with a bit of English and it means YOU are the only one my heart longs for. This is a pure fusion of Zambian sound and Pop, of course not forgetting my guitars
