The single is Kiki‘s latest release since her debut EP ‘Catch Me’ in November 2017, which came in the top 10 best sellers list on mvesesani .com for 2017 despite its late release in the year.

Once again produced by the fantastic Mag44 at Radio Café, this is yet another collaboration with one of our industry’s most talented producers as she continues to shape her sound as an artist and provide her listeners with a fresh sound. Kiki is the sole composer of both the lyrics and music on this track, and true to her writing style, she aims to delve deep into different facets of the human experience.

She describes ‘Buttons’ as a depiction of the interplay and emotional triggers within a relationship. The challenges and realizations that can unfold in the dynamic between two people are something she feels everyone has experienced at some point or another in their lives, and therefore can relate.

I’m releasing this single exclusively on our local online platform Mvesesani in recognition and with thanks for their contribution to the Zambian music industry” says Kiki. “They have managed to set in motion a change of mindset towards supporting Zambian music by encouraging people to invest in the music of local artists by buying music via their online platform. This support is something that I feel will inevitably feed into the quality of music produced, which will in turn contribute towards growth and expansion not just locally but internationally too. This exclusive release is a statement of encouragement and support in their mission.

The track is accompanied by a lyrics video on YouTube produced by Prosam Animations.

Kiki performed at The Stanbic Music Festival last year in October 2018 where she opened for International R&B legends Joe Thomas and Brian McKnight. This was the third year she was selected as an opening act for the festival; the first time at its debut in 2013 and once again in 2015 where she opened for other International acts including Mi Casa, Oliver Mtukudzi, Hugh Masekela & Earl Klugh.
