ZAMBIAN hip-hop continues to grow with the release of “Pay Day”, a new single by emerging artists Fay Fay ZM and Tuff Girl.
Fay Fay ZM, a Zambian artist from Kabwe with Tanzanian roots, joins forces with Matero-based Tuff Girl to deliver a high-energy hip-hop track that is gaining attention on social media and highlights the rising influence of female artists in the local music scene.
Centred on ambition, resilience and self-belief, “#PayDay” speaks to the reward that comes after hard work — looking forward to reaping what one has sown, despite the sweat and sacrifice, and ultimately taking time to celebrate success. The song was produced by Afroken and Donya Beats and the music video was shot in Matero, capturing the vibrant community setting while highlighting the artists’ individuality and strong on-screen presence, directed by Director Chen Chen Lee.
Fay Fay ZM has also featured in various music videos notably in “Allow Me” by Drimz and with Malawian artist Gwamba, Kineo & Teddy Makadi on “Alole, Futhermore an upcoming collaboration with Max Da Boss from Nigeria/USA reflecting her recognition beyond Zambia.
