Ever since AKA rapped on a song to say Macky2 is a Godfather, the Zambian music industry followers have had the internet up beating arguing over who The Godfather of the Zambian music industry is.
A few days ago there was some debate on social media between CQ Muzukulu and Dj Showstar. The debate came about after DJ Showstar made a post saying he is a Godfather of Zambian music. CQ Muzukulu however was against that view.
Holster has therefore given Chisenga formerly known as Mr Swaga his flowers while he is still alive. Holster posted on his Facebook page saying, “#RespectTheOGs Chisenga Deserves his flowers for sparking a Fire in Zed Hip Hop when we needed something to look up to! If we don’t host awards this year – I will send that lifetime achievement myself.“
Chisenga is the first zed artist to ever drop an album on commercial level. Arguably he is the first Zambian to ever attend the Grammys (He attended the 54 th Grammy awards). He is also the first Zambian artist to ever have a number 1 music video on both channel 0 and MTV base chart.
In addition Mr. Swagger holds a record of being the first Hip Hop/Rap artist to have ever his face on Billboards in the city of Lusaka, the Capital of Zambia.
For the Rap game it is safe to say he is The Pioneer and Godfather of the Rap game in Zambia. Even Macky 2 endorsed Chisenga on one of his mega hit rap songs titled “Chikalakukalipa fye “
Indeed Chisenga (The hip hop crisis) deserves his flowers.
