Africa Hip – Hop Awards launch brought together endorsements from Africa’s legendary rapper, M.I, Ghana’s extraordinaire E.L, Navio from Uganda, Khaligraph from Kenya, heavily graced by South Africa’s Hip- Hop legend complimented by his wife, South Africa’s celebrated media guru, Lerato, MAMAs award winner 3rd Eye from Malawi, Oteya from Namibia, Cleo Ice Queen, Chef187 and Mic Burner from Zambia.

The inspiration and support for launching Africa Hip Hop Awards came from our good late friend HHP who was our able guest at the launch of the event in Lusaka Zambia on 1st July 2017 after a successful media launch tours in Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and others in 2018.

The death of HHP on 24th October 2018 coincided with the abstract break of Platinum Events Productions Africa from fully packed creative media industry business. The break was as a result of one of its major directors and founders, taking on a royalty preoccupation hence keeping the operations of the company fully inactive till September 2019.

In the latter part of the year 2017, AHA held hands to develop and produce AHA Rising Cypher, the Ghana Version. The piece attracted numerous viewers and received applause from the general music loving populace practically on social media, encouraging us to reciprocate in different countries. A revamping motive we intend to continue and build upon by giving the platform for very talented so called “underground” acts to be known and identified by the world

The objective of the show which will come with a weekly podcast, is to appreciate the Hip-Hop culture and industry in Africa, by paying homage to the pioneers, appreciating the present artists, and creating a heritage for the future artists.

The target audience for this show are Hip-Hop lovers and artists from across Africa. The show will be broadcast in five other African countries including Platinum Events Productions Africas’ own MOZO TV in Zambia and other affiliated television partners across the continent, including other platforms like the YouTube channel. Whilst a podcast version will be available on all the related audio streaming platforms.

AHA team will be updating fans, followers and viewers of any AHA related contents on various social media platforms and television channels. The updates will include information about the AHA Virtual Trophy tour in various countries. This is a move to present and re-launch the whole AHA brand to the masses through such an easily crafted digital means particularly during this COVID- 19 season.

We encourage creative content providers within the music industry across the continent to reach out to us and become a contributing producer for this amazing step taken. Cheers !!
