Most of You Know My Name but Not My Story — Mampi Opens Up on Deep Personal Tragedies, Announces New Single On The Way

Zambian music powerhouse Mampi has shared one of the most emotional and vulnerable posts of her career, opening up about a lifetime of heartbreaking losses that would break even the strongest spirit. In a deeply touching Facebook post, Mampi revealed the tragedies she has endured behind the fame stories many fans never knew.

She wrote: “I’ve lived through pain that should have broken me—my mother taken by cancer, my father and young brother brutally murdered, losing my sister after a short illness, another sister hit by a car and died on the spot… my brother surviving a severe gunshot, and when my 14-year-old nephew collapsed and died a few years ago, it took me to a really dark place. I’ve carried questions, heartbreak, and wounds deeper than words. But through every tragedy, God has held me together. My faith has never been shaken, because His presence has never left me. Truly, He is worthy to be praised.”

The singer emphasized that while many people recognize her public persona, they have never known the battles she has fought privately. Her message has sparked an outpouring of love, comfort, and admiration from fans, who praise her for her strength and openness.

Alongside the emotional reveal, Mampi also announced that she is set to release a brand-new single titled “Mumanionako”, featuring the soulful Wezi. The song is expected to carry themes of resilience, reflection, and inner strength echoing the emotions she expressed in her post.
