The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Arts has officially announced a grand welcome parade for Zambian athlete Muzala Samukonga, set to take place upon his return to the country. Samukonga is expected to arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport tomorrow at 14:30 hrs, following the conclusion of his European tour at the prestigious Diamond League.
Samukonga made history last month at the Paris Olympics by becoming the first Zambian athlete to win a medal in 28 years. He earned a bronze in the men’s 400m final, a proud moment for Zambia on the international stage.
In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Kangwa Chileshe, the Ministry shared that the parade will proceed from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport to the National Sport Development Centre (NASDEC), where further celebrations will take place. The procession will also feature other athletes who participated in the Paris Games, marking a moment of national pride and unity.
This parade is expected to attract widespread attention as the nation celebrates Samukonga’s remarkable achievements and acknowledges the efforts of all the athletes representing Zambia on the global stage.
The Ministry invites all citizens to join in welcoming Muzala and supporting the nation’s athletes.
